Harry Ford visited friends on the project Saturday. He is now em ployed at Deschutes. Mr. and Mrs. Don Potts are visit ing at the Potts home while Don is on leave from the Navy. Paul Smith went to Heppner Mon day to attend Grand Jury. Mr. and Mrs. Black, Mr. and Mrs. Harter, Mrs. Washburn. Miss Etbau- er, and Miss Brown attended a party at the Geo. Linn home in Umatilla Sunday night. Work has been nearly completed at the Grange hall. By Margaret Thorpe A card party was held at the Grange hall Wednesday night with seven tables in play. High prizes went to Bruce Lindsey and Margaret Thorpe with low going to Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Miller. Mrs. Shannan and Bruce Lindsey received the pinochle traveling prize. The Boardman Yellowjackets de feated the Arlington Honkers here Thursday night in the first game of the season with a score of 29 to 26. The high point men for Boardman were Bill Harter with 13 points and Harold Baker with 12 points. Friday night was the annual Ladies Aid bazaar which was held at the school house. Supper was served at 6 o’clock with a program at 8. Grace Shoun Betty Acock left for Portland Fri day morning, returning Monday even ing. She visited with friends there. The Dan Hill family and Mrs. Ot to Meyers were Pendleton visitors Monday. Adren Allen returned from Portland Saturday evening after spending a few days there. He took Ora Acock back when he went down on his way to his home at Oregon City. He had been visiting his brother, C. W. Acock and family. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Schneider are going to attend the fellowship meet ing of the Pentecostal church in Heppner Wednesday. Mrs. David Steagall. Mrs. Henry Miller and Mrs. Don Kenny were Pendleton visitors Tuesday. Mrs. Mildred Haney received word Phone 518 Tuesday that her father. F. E. Cooley of Spokane is quite ill. Mr. Cooley has visited in Irrigon several times. Grace Haney arrived home from Heppner Monday. She has been at tending school in Heppner. She be gan in Irrigon Tuesday. Mr. Griffin had the misfortune to get his head and back injured when a beam broke while he was drilling Sat urday on the Ernest Stephens place. He has the hole 33 feet deep.
