Miss Lucile Lukens and Mrs. Sim mons of the county health staff were guests of the Hermiston Rotary club at its weekly meeting Thursday noon. Mrs. F. C. McKenzie left Tuesday night for San Luis Obispo, Calif., to visit her son Frank, who is with the armed forces near there. She ex pects to be gone several weeks. Robert W. Voile, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Voile, of Irrigon, has ar rived at Camp Roberts. Calif., at the Infantry Replacement Training Cen ter. Miss Dorothy Pierson and Miss Lois Harris returned Sunday from a 10- day trip to Victoria, B. C- The girls report an interesting excursion, es pecially the journey from Seattle to Victoria by boat. Old time quaint costumes are still in vogue in Victoria. Mrs. Mark Klinefelter of Hermiston underwent an operation for appendi citis in the Walla Walla General hos pital Wednesday. Reports Thursday were that she was getting along nice- ly. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Shaw, Ray Shaw, Mrs. Vester Shaw, Rebecca Pierson and Mrs. Grant Henderson went to Heppner Sunday to visit at the home of Mrs. Casha Shaw.
