Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cox spent the week end at Walla Walla and Pendleton. James Moncrief was admitted to the local hospital as a medical patient this week. Miss Lavina May Lynch spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Portland | with friends. S. J. Harkenridcr, father of George Harkenrider, left Tuesday to make his home in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ayers are the parents of a baby daughter, Mary Rosann, born last week. Delmar Lipton was admitted to the Hermiston general hospital Monday suffering with pneumonia. who spent the Laureile Thanksgiving holiday here with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Saylor, returned to her studies in Spokane on | Sunday. I Corp. Gilbert Dyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Dyer, is home on a fur- lough from the U. S. Marines. Corp. Dyer and his brother, Corp. Chet. Dy er, are both stationed at San Diego where they work in a commissary. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lear and fam-1 ily spent from Wednesday night to i Thursday night in Condon enjoying Thanksgiving with his parents. Mrs. J. R. Applington, who was ad mitted to the hospital here November 29. was given a blood transfusion on Monday. Her condition is reported as improved. Capt. and Mrs. L. K. Fred Hensel was sworn in Tuesday in Walla Walla as an aviation cadet, enlisting in the air corps reserve. No date has been set for his call but is expected within the next six months.
