Maloney, Collector of Inter nal Revenue, called attention today to the fact that the Revenue Act of 1941 imposed a number of new taxes, which became effective October 1, that will affect thousands of taxpay ers who were not heretofore liable for taxes. Drew Hereim of Colorado, but for merly of Boardman, spent a few days on the project. He expressed much pleasure in meeting the old time friends. He moved to Colorado ten years ago. Because of increased demands from defense industries for office help, many of last year’s merit lists al ready have been exhaused. Appoint ments from the new lists will follow closely upon completion of the tests, it is expected.
