Hermiston Co-op. Cannery. I NEW CALF CLUB AT STANFIELD A new 4-H D airy Calf club was organized a t the home of Mrs. V irgil Hogg in the Stanfield community last Monday evening. This is the firs t agricultural 4-H club to be formed in this community for several years. O fficers of the club are Bill Gil bert, president; Alida Picanso, vice president: Jim Hogg, secretary; and Ju n io r Brown, reporter. The other members of the club are F rancis Stephens. Andrew Laniont, Jim La mont, V irginia Picanso, Elaine Hogg, Wendel Hogg, and Jim Quinn. Mrs. V irgil Hogg is to be the leader. WEED CONTROL METHODS STUDIED NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN. Mr. Jenkins had spent the day surveying weed areas in the west end of the . county and expressed alarm a t the j grow th in size of some areas since his la st visit. This district may soon find itself in the position of certain ; areas in other states where large acreages have been abandoned and taken off the tax rolls because of noxious weed infestations, Jenkins said. Mr. Gan non was born in Baltim ore, M ary land, and for many years was a track rider in the W allula gap dis tric t. He lived in Herm iston during the last 20 years and spent a great deal of time in recent years prospect ing in the mountains. Mr. Gannon had no known rela tives.
