CHEVROLET SALES SHARPLY HIGHER Detroit, Jan. 8—Chevrolet division of General Motors reported Tuesday that its retail sales of new cars and trucks during 1940 totaled 1,046,069 units. In 1939 retail sales aggregat ed 7 91,886 vehicles. Sales for the final month of last year were 95,119 new cars and trucks, an increase of 6,395 over December 1939.
