Cushing attended a meeting of the U m atilla county m inisters at the Pendleton M ethodist church Tues day. The meeting began with a devotion afte r which a pot luck dinner was en joyed. In the afternoon Miss Dulcina Brown, director of religious educa tion for the Portland Council of churches, gave an address of the place and need of week-day religious edu cation. A fter a discussion period, the meeting adjorned when they had set up a County M inisterial association. Rev. E arle Cochran of the Pendleton Presbyterian church was elected pres ¡dent and Rev. Loree of Hermiston, secretary. The next meeting of the F arm Bureau A uxiliary will be held F r i day, October 4. Ail members are urged to be present as an election of officers will be held. There will be some im portant business to tran sact. At the last meeting, September 20, a jolly crowd of ladies had a good time with a prize donated to the lady telling the best falsehood.
