Jesse Moore and Olen Baseball Season Successful. T he 1938 baseball season closed w ith th e Bulldogs ag ain tied w ith the upper county league w in n ers for U m atilla county cham pionship. The H erm iston club won five gam es and lost two. The team was one of the best bal anced clubs in th e school in recent years, w ith such v eteran s as Sj R ankin, a t ca tc h er’s post, and G. K eller p itc h er; J. Knox on first w ith F. F u rre r a t second; M. Ran-( kin on short, w ith J. K err holding down th ird , m aking up the sta rtin g infield. T he outfield consisting of T. Lotspeich a t left field, L. H u n t in cen ter, and E. Moore a t rig h t field, to m ake up a tig h t field trio. These men w ere backed by Don Pankow , H. N eill an d A lb ert Shipp. The season’s schedule consisted of th ree gam es w ith U m atilla, two w ith A thena, and tw o w ith H eppner.
