W ith th a t in view th e board of directors have arranged fo r a series of m eetings when infor m ation may be secured from elec tric a l men who will have no p u r pose except to assist farm ers in choosing the best m ethods of w iring and the selection of th e appliances best suited to th e ir uses. These m eetings should be attended by ev ery man and woman in th e district. A proper study of these questions u n d er d irection of th e sta te college extension service will resu lt in im p o rta n t savings to every user. The new pow er line w ill carry the juice to your homes, but good poles and the best w ire and equipm ent w ill be of little service alone. Also some rock rip -ra p was laid to stren g th en the bank and keep th e d irt from blow ing. T his work was done u nder the d irection of A1 H iatt. Some old pipe lines were dug up and new line laid. The rodent control crew finished its w ork a t S tan field and is now at work on th e H erm iston project. W ork done in the W estland canal consisted of rem oving accum ulated waste, silt, brush and weeds from the canal and w idening the canal. T his work was accom plished p a rtia l ly by hand labor and w ith c a te r p illar tracto r. Some brush rip rap was also laid to keep down sand blows which fill th e canal. C harles R atliff had charge of th is work. In th e camp n ig h t classes a re held which are presided over by the forem an of the camp. These classes are usually concerned w ith the p rac tical problem s connected w ith the work in w hich they a re engaged d u rin g the day. A course in ty p in g is also given u nder th e direction of H. R. P offenbarger, th e B ureau of Rec lam ation clerk. At present th e com m anding o ffi cer is L ieu ten an t H arold C. W ohl- ner, who is ta k in g th e place of L ieu te n a n t Hower, who is in New York on leave. T h irty -fiv e enrollees recently a r rived a t the camp from Ohio. G abriel. ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ► CHUBCH NOTES ♦ CHRISTIAN SC1ENSE CHURCHES UT OVE” was the subject of the I j L e s s o n - Sermon i n a l l Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, Ja n u ary 30. The Golden Text was, “We have known and believed th e love th a t God hath to us. God is love; and he th a t dwelletli in love dwelleth in God, and God in him ” (I John 4 :1 6 ). Among the citations which com prised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me saying, Yea, I have loved thee w ith an everlasting love: th e re fore w ith loving kindness have I draw n th e e” (Jer. 3 1 :3 ). The Lesson-Sermon also includ ed the following correlative pas sages from th e C hristian Science textbook, "Science and H ealth with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “ People go into ecstasies over th e sense of a cor poreal Jehovah, though with scarcely a spark of love in their h earts; yet God is Love, and w ith o u t Love, God, im m ortality can not appear. . . . M ortals be lieve in a finite personal God; while God is infinite Love, which m ust be u nlim ited” (p. 312).
