CHRISTIAN SC1ENSE CHURCHES
UT OVE” was the subject of the
I j L e s s o n - Sermon i n a l l
Churches of Christ, Scientist, on
Sunday, Ja n u ary 30.
The Golden Text was, “We have
known and believed th e love th a t
God hath to us. God is love; and
he th a t dwelletli in love dwelleth
in God, and God in him ” (I John
4 :1 6 ).
Among the citations which com

following from the Bible: “The
Lord hath appeared of old unto
me saying, Yea, I have loved thee
w ith an everlasting love: th e re
fore w ith loving kindness have I
draw n th e e” (Jer. 3 1 :3 ).
The Lesson-Sermon also includ
ed the following correlative pas
sages from th e C hristian Science
textbook, "Science and H ealth
with Key to the Scriptures by
Mary Baker Eddy: “ People go into
ecstasies over th e sense of a cor
poreal Jehovah, though
with
scarcely a spark of love in their
h earts; yet God is Love, and w ith
o u t Love, God, im m ortality can
not appear. . . . M ortals be
lieve in a finite personal God;
while God is infinite Love, which
