THURSDAY, JULY 1, 1937. THE HERMISTON HERALD. HERMISTON. ORFCON 1 - V .E FTV> — IS S A F E R ! FARM CO-OPERATIVE DIVISION M E SSA G E t-E-C-A Q uestions, and m any of them are being asked by farm ers who live w ith in th e are a to be supplied w ith elec tricity by th e U m atilla E lectric C ooperative association. N a tu ra lly th e re should be, for there are many facts to be learned and m any plans m ust be made. It is not the purpose of these few lines to answ er all ques tio n s th a t m ig h t be asked because we do not know all th e questions an d n e ith e r do we know all th e an sw ers. H ow ever, it will be possible to answ er enough of them to ju stify th e space taken in th is colum n. One of the questions u sually a sk ed firs t is "If I hav en ’t filled out one of those blanks, w ill i t be pos sible for me to get e le c tric ity ? ” T he answ er is. yes. In th e very near fu tu re th e p roject m anager w ill call a t your home expressly to show you how th e service w ill be m ade av a il able to you. T h a t is one of his im p o rta n t duties. Keep in m ind th a t th e association is a fte r volume. A nother question is, “ How w ill I get my house w ired? I d on’t know a th in g about it.” It has been sug gested th a t a school be established to teach th e fundam entals of elec tric ity and of w iring. W ith th is in form ation you should be able to do a fairly good job. F or the p rotec tion of your in su ran ce policy, how- every, the job. when com pleted should be exam ined by a com petent electrician . B ear th is in m ind th a t v aluable pieces of p roperty a re b u rn ed because of defective w iring. Be sure you a re rig h t and th en go ahead. Of course if you do not w ish to ta k e a chance, it w ill be neces sary to em ploy a com petent ele c tri cian. T his in q u iry is also made, “ Should I s ta r t buying th e electical ap p li ances I w ant rig h t aw a y ?” Don’t be in a h urry. T here is plenty of tim e because juice wil> not likely be in th e w ires before w inter. Of course if so m ething should drop in to your lap, d on’t tu rn it down. In th e issues follow ing, more specific in form ation w ill be printed in th ese columns. One im p o rtan t item of in te re st w ill explain the loan feature. F. B.
