Frances Hutsell and Adita Ryland were visitors at the L. Hammer home Sunday afternoon. Etna Wilson, who has been em- ployed in Athena for the past month, returned to the Tom Wilson home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wade of Umatilla were Sunday dinner guests at the Ryland home. Albert Shipp, who has been at tending school in Umatilla, is now a student of the Hermiston Union high school. Lois Hutchison was a Sunday visi tor of Myrthena Martin in Hermis- ton. Joe Hawkins of Adams was a bus iness visitor at the Tom Wilson home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wells have moved to Pendleton where Mr. Wells is employed. L. W. Dixson spent several days in Port Angeles visiting his father who Is 111. Mrs. H. Hooker, daughter Nellie and Mrs. Lou Hooker, were business visitors in Walla Walla Saturday. Loren Caldwell of Meacham, Ore., and Catel J. Caldwell of The Dalles visited at the home of their sister, Mrs. Bob Woodward, over the week end. Word was received here Sunday of the death of Mrs. D. Barnes of El gin, Ore., at Tillamook. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes lived here several years when Mr. Barnes was caretaker at the depot. Mrs. Barnes has been in poor health for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Eddy made a trip to Pendleton Saturday. Miss Bessie Wilson and a friend from La Grande spent the week end with the former’s mother, Mrs. Nora Wilson. Bob Walpole was a Boardman vis- itor Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Kendler, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Isom and Mr. and Mrs. Don Isom motored over to Washington Sunday to inspect the dredge boat near Plymouth. Robert Smith left for Portland Monday with a truck of fat hogs. A social evening by the Irrigon Grange was held Saturday night. Mrs. Nora Wilson is having some new built-ins put in her home. Ed Adams is doing the work. Mrs. James Warner was a Pendle ton visitor Monday. Frank Brace was a Heppner visi tor one day last week. A deal was closed this week be- tween Mr. and Mrs. W. C.
