Kersbergen left this week for Medford, Ore., on a combined business and pleasure trip. Mr, and Mrs. Chas. Conner, re cently of Stanfield but now of Pen dleton. visited friends here Sunday. Mrs. M. L. Watson is employed at Amsberry’s 5-10-15c store this week while the Amsberrys are on a va cation trip. Henry Molstrom and John Holm gren of Pendleton were business vi sitors in town this week Robert Yeager left Sunday for Walia Walla where he has renewed his connections with the railroad. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Kellogg visited friends here over the week end while enroute to Portland where Mr. Kellogg has been transferred. Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Felthouse left Sunday morning on a two weeks va- cation trip which will be spent at Newport and coast points. Joe Reeves is taking a month's leave of absence from the postal service as mail carrier and will be relieved by Jasper Templeton. He expects to spend some time at Flora. Ore., with his daughter. Duncan were called to Portland on business Wed- nesday by James L Quinn, contrac- tor who recently completed the new Union high school building. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Weis and Norman Weis and Miss Rosalie Fox of La Grande visited Sunday at the home of Mrs. Weis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas Clark. Miss Barbara Wessell spent the week end in Walla Walla visiting Miss Gladys Driscoll, who is taking a course at the Morman Beauty school. Mrs. D. F. McGreal of Portland, niece of J. W. Hammon, is visiting at the Hammon home and will spend her two weeks vacation here. Mrs. Dale Blackstone and son re turned Monday from Eden. Idaho, where she was called recently by the death of her mother. Mrs. Edgar Peterson and daugh ter Nancy Gay arrived last Friday to spend two weeks with her par- ents. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dyer. Her home is in Powell Butte Mr. and Mrs. T. A. County and son and two daughters of Merrino, Colorado, arrived this week and are visiting their two daughters. Mrs. Ray Null and Mrs. A. Morgan. Earl Webb. electrician who in stalled the wiring in the new high school building, was in town this week installing the master clock in the building. Miss Margaret Hedwall is taking a vacation this week from her work in Dr. F. B. Belt's office. Miss Irene Kennings is substituting for her. Virginia Todd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Todd, left Monday afternoon for La Grande where she will visit for a week with Roberta Winters, who formerly lived here. Gordan and two daughters Ardath and Doris Jane of Elgin, and Arnold Wealty visited her sister Miss Pauline Stoop Sun day. The two girls remained to vi sit their aunt for a week. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Brownson left Saturday morning for coast points where they will enjoy a two weeks vacation. Mr. Brownson is manager of the Tum-A-Lum Lumber company here and Mrs. Brownson is librarian Bomar Stiner of Sherwood. Ore., is a guest at the A. Swarner home this week. Mr. White is working on i the new civic auditorium building in Mr. and Mrs. Pete Berg have moved into the house occupied by the McPhersons. Mr. Berg is man- ager of the Ellis Feed Store and Mrs. Berg and two children moved here from Walla Walla Saturday. Billy Penney, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Penney of Stanfield, returned Tuesday evening from a 6000 mile trip taken with his aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs. Lloyd Russell. They visited Salt Lake city and the Yel lowstone National park. Mr and Mrs. E. E. Rainwater moved into the house formerly oc cupied by Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Baker at the edge of town Wednesday. They have been occupying the house on lower Hermiston avenue. Miss Hazel Branch of Midvale, Idaho, arrived Wednesday morning and will visit indefinitely with her aunt and uncle. Mr and Mrs. H. G. Lake who live on Hermiston avenue. They recently purchased the E. E McPherson five acres. Harold Marble returned home Wednesday after spending the past month at Suttle Lake where he looked after the camp.
