Pete Berg, who recently took over the management of the Ellis Feed Store, expects his family to arrive soon and they will live for the pres ent in the house recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Guy Amsberry, but will make their permanent home in the house now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. C. Thompson. The Thompsons w ill move onto their ranch north of Hermiston in September. Craig Percy and F. Ellis Moyer left Tuesday for Portland where they will vacation for a week. Percy is employed in the Safeway store and Moyer operates a men’s ready- to-wear store here. Felthouse returned Friday from a trip through eastern Monta na and the drouth area. He reports that sections of Montana is desolate of crops and vegetation. He swung down into the Yellowstone National Park and visited Old Faithfur and other points of interest in the park. Miss Rebecca Brosten is the house guest of her sister, Mrs. H. K. Dean. She just returned from a visit to her old home in North Dakota and brings tragic reports of the drouth conditions there. Miss Brosten makes her home in Los Angeles. Miss Gladys Swarner returned Tuesday night from Yakima, Wn., to spend a two weeks' vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Swar ner. She is a physical education in structor in the Y.W.C.A. at Yakima since she graduated from Oregon State college last year. Mrs. Hazel Estes, daughter of W. H. Bowman of Hermiston, under went an appendicitis operation at St. Anthony’s hospital Saturday. An other daughter, Mrs. Harry Dyer, is also in teh hospital in Pendleton fol lowing an apepndicitis operation. Both are recovering nicely. Mrs. E. E.
