Lenore Wahl was a Pendleton business visitor Monday. Mrs. R. E. Osborn left Wednesday on a business trip to Walla Walla. Jack Dennis of Dennis Motor Co. in Pendleton was a business visitor in town Wednesday. F. Rohrman and son Mrs. Adolph Charles returned home from Pendleton the first of the week. Miss Ruth Dodd returned the first of the week from an extended visit with relatives in Portland. Mrs. Wm. Shaar was a Walla visitor last Friday. Craig Percy returned Sunday from Los Angeles, Calif., where he spent a week’s vacation visiting relatives and friends. Miss Iris Omohundro is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Baker. E. W. Lewis and E. D. Timms of Yakima were business visitors here Saturday. Chas. Dillon and son Warren of Boardman were Hermiston visitors Monday. Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Felthouse have returned from a two weeks vacation trip to the coast and Sound country. Dr. M. S. Kern and F. W. Kern of Pendleton were business visitors in town Wednesday. R. E. Allstoot of Heppner has been looking after business interests in Hermiston for a few days. Miss Catherine McMullen left last Thursday to spend several days with her friend Miss Rose Westersund near Pendleton. Mrs. F. L. Kelley returned Sun day from Goldendale, Wn., where she visited her daughter for three weeks. Mrs. Ellen Livermore who has been visiting her brother Frank Al len left for her home in Pendleton Wednesday. A baby daughter named Bonna Jean was born to Mr. and Mrs. Art Beasley Tuesday, August 13. Mr and Mrs. J. P. Neufeldt and daughter Marie and son Sam of Dallas, Ore., arrived in Hermiston Tuesday morning and visited until Thursday morning with their daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Al Quiring. Haneline and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Guiwits motored to Emigrant Springs Sunday where they enjoyed the day. Mrs. W. J. Davis of Grass Valley is the house guest of her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Penney and son Billy and Misa Esther Fredreck- son of Stanfield were Portland busi ness visitors over the week end. Vernon Bowman, small son of W. H. Bowman, is visiting his sister and family Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kauffman in Elgin this week. Harry Spinning of the North Side, one of the men to develop the poul try industry here, was in town Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Morfitt and Mrs. A. W. Purdy left Wednesday on a short trip to Portland. Betty and Robert Morfitt went with them. Miss Lila McMillan of Eugene is visiting her brother and family Mr. and Mrs. Harry McMllan. She for merly worked as an operator on the local telephone exchange. Mrs. Walter Lehman and son Don Lehman of Portland visited Mrs. Lehman’s brother. Sherman Wells and family here Monday and Tues day. Going into the mountains to Sheep Creek Saturday Fred Ober, Dave Mit- tlesdorf and Walter Jendrzejewski spent the day fishing. They reported a nice catch of mountain trout. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Krause re turned Sunday from a week’s vaca tion at Yakima and Lake Chelan. At Yakima they visited Mrs. Krause’s mother. 15-Piece glass bridge sets, adv. Falkner of Salem visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. McMullen for a short time Sunday. Mr. Falkner is from the Fast Side Fire Station in Salem. Mrs. Mahel Ralph and daughters Pettv. Charlotte and Helen and Fred Wensel spent the greater part of the week at Seaside. They expected to return late Thursday. Bowman from her home at Durkey, Ore. Miss Levada Bowman accompanied her home and will remain there to at tend school in Baker this winter. • Miss Mary Brownson returned Sunday from Corvallis where she has been attending summer school. She will remain with her parents Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Brownson until school starts in September. Elmer Garrett has moved into the Ed Parrish house on the West side, and Virgil Smith has purchased and moved into the Purdy place on East Main Street. Mrs. J. A. Serell, accompanied by her son Donald motored to Portland last week where they visited rela tives and friends. While In Portland they were joined by Rosemary Serell who, with Bonnie Jean Follett had been spending the last two weeks at the Baptist Assembly at Cascadia, Ore.
