Since Irrigation' during the past month much of the alfalfa thought to have been frozen out has start- i ed, although much reseeding has been going on. Stocks of hay are about cleaned up all over the project. O. O. Felthouse has leased the al falfa land on his ranrh In Columbia district to Ed Stokes for the present season. Sidney Barnard . has rented his {alfalfa land for the coming year to the Hunt brothers. Mr. Barnard aa manager of the Farm Bureau Coop erative found that the dutlee of this (Office took up most of his ttm^ so therefore decided to lease Mr. Barn- 'ard has been experimenting with pasture for dairy cows and has started one of sweet clover and some I other mixtures and promise» great things In dairying next spring. « ALFALFA DAMAGE ELSEWHERE Sam Boardman, with the state highway, drove back through town from a trip to Boise. Idaho, last week and states that a hay stack Is unusual all along the highway. In Baker county he says that 90 per cent of the alfalfa was winter killed and the stockmen are already guess ing how they are going to feed their cattle and sheep this coming win ter. In Idaho the alfalfa is also bad ly damaged and the hay all consum ed. He expects that alfalfa hay will be higher than a cat’s back this winter. E. J. Dixon is Expected Soon E. J. Dixon, manager of the Pac Cooperative Poultry Producers Is ex. pected in this city soon. Mr. Dixor will help with the organization of thr poultry producers on the project. / meeting will be arranged at which Mr. Dixon wll speak and explain lr detail Just what the organization 1: trying to accomplish for the poultry raiser. A number of the local poul trymen are already members and art highly pleased with the returns thej are getting from their eggs. Thr date of Mr. Dixon's visit will be madr known in the near future.
