TREASURE ISLAND” SEEN BY HERMISTON MOVIE FANS Stevenson’s Great Story Tells of P ir ate Gold in the South Seas; Woman Has Boys’ Part Many theater goers here were thrilled Saturday evening with the picture,' "Treasure Island." Nearly everyone has read this great book and shuddered at the story of pirate gold In the south seas. Readers have been thrilled by the Pieces of e^ght,” and “Yo-ho and a bottle of rum,” even though the hot. tie of rum itself belongs to history. The picture followed the line of the story, though some parts were left out, perhaps had to be to make the picture .Iconform to reasonable length. It started In an English sea coast town, with the arrival of the ex-pirate Bones at the inn and developed interest rapidly, when the pirate crew arrived and try to cap ture the Flint map of the Island where he buried his treasure. The hero, a small boy, who Is in this picture is really Miss Shirley Mason gets the chart and shows it to two rich gentlemen of the village who decide to fit out a vessel and go to the south seas. The boy Is un able to get permission to go hut he hides as ai stowaway and goes any- ay. How they hire a pirate crew nd how their vessel Is victim of a mutiny which threatens the lives of all the honest men aboard Is the plot of the story. The scenes on treasure lsjand are ell pictured and the play ends as the hero and his friends having aptured the treasure prepare to 'eave for home. The book is one of Robert Louis tevenson’s best and has been read >y millions of people who will cn- loy the picture drama now being pro- ented. Do Today's 1 ask Well. The best way to make sure of to morrow’s strength. Is Io pnt our whole trengtb Into the task of today.—11. It iiawels.
