We are making a wonderful start for the new year and have accomplished a great deal. Keep on going in high, before the year is over, we may have accom plished more than we ever dreamed of. Great things have happened to us all ready this year, greater things can happen if we try to help them to happen. It’s up.to us. One thing we can do is to make clear-up day a great success. That will be accomplishing' a great deal. The Umatilla project Is in better condition than any other part of the state because we have the natural advantages for one thing. For an other reason, our people have not been extravagant, they have not bought expensive cars, or other lux uries that they could not afford, they have kept within their means, and now when the times are tight, and money Is scarce, they have enough to get by until conditions become normal. So let’s don’t stop keeping on. We have everything in our favor and let’s make use of everything. In nearly every case these plotters come to us uninvited from some for eign shore. Since they do not ap prove of the manner in which we manage our own affairs, the logical course would be to send them back to the countries from whence they came. They may find conditions more to their liking in the hotbeds from whence they fled. Foreigners who are willing to be come productive assets in this coun try are welcome. Dangerous liabilities are not wanted. WOMAN When a man exhibits extraordi nary intelligence and progress the world looks up to him as a man among men. His father comes in for a good share of credit for having pro duced such a son. The mother is generally forgotten. Women usually are, where credit is to be given. And yet it is the mother who brings him into the world—who is his constant teacher from infancy to maturity—who starts him on the road which travels with such distinc tion and success. Women have never been accorded their just dues in this world. It will be many years before they ever receive them, although each one brings us a little closer to the goal.
