Seventy-five fully loaded cars of products of the Hermiston country shipped out in one month is a nice record and can best be appreciated by those living here at a time when every ounce of feed for man and beast had to be brought in. Yet this seventy five car shipment is but a begin ning. The fly has no equal as a germ carrier. The killing of just one fly now means millions less later in the season. The i work should not prove arduous I or burdensome and would relieve the project of an expense that will be felt before peace again settles over our country. An other movement we favor is the forming of a unit from among the membership of the organi zation of those wishing to take up active drilling. This unit could be composed of the boys between 17 and 20 and men be tween 35 and 45. A good sized company of these classes can be secured here and, while we hope there will be no heed for them, we cannot but feel all will have an opportunity for very import ant work before the end. Now is the opportunity for every man to stand forth that all the nation may know where to place him.
