HOLMAN FILES FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER TO ALL GOOD CITIZENS OF GRESHAM: — The outward appearance of our city has much to do with our own m ental, moral and m aterial w elfare and the reputation we hold in the minds of visitors and people generally. A clean city is the pride of its citizens and makes a favorable impression on all who come w ithin our borders. The clean-up cam paign should be continuous through out the year but there comes a time when special attention should be called to this need and when the city council offers its assistance. HOLMAN The council has designated the early part of next week, April 14, 15, 1G and 17 as a clean-up period when stuff to be hauled away may be placed in sacks or boxes a t the curb to be hauled away by truck furnished by the council. RESIDENTS OPPOSE COUNTY ROAD SHIFT A rem o n stra n ce addressed to the board of county com m issioners is be ing circ u lated by resid e n ts living along th e B arr road betw een th e B ark er and Rockwood ro ad s ag a in st th e chan g in g of th e co u rse of the road, an o rd er for w hich has been m ade by th e board by reso lu tio n. T he proposed ch an g e would obviate two jogs, involving fo u r sq u a re co rn ers, would condem n th e alre ad y w ell- g raveled road and would m ake neces sa ry th e g rad in g and g rav elin g of a new road exten d in g th ro u g h th e fields for a m ile, an av erag e d istan ce of 250 feet to th e south of th e p rese n t road. T hose living along th e p rese n t road claim th a t th e ch an g e would be a dam age to them as they have planned th e ir resid en ces an d farm buildings w ith referen ce to it.
