His wife did not accom pany him. PUBLIC SPE A K IN G RECITAL H enry M. Bowman was born at T ren to n . Missouri. March 30, 1876. His fa th e r died when he was about th ree weeks old. He cam e to Oregon w ith th e o th e r m em bers of th e fam i ly when he was 13 years of age. His m o th er died a t The Dalles th ree years later. In 1898 he w ent to Cal Readings by J. Fred McGrew and Miss Martha Fergu ifornia. Mr. Bowman was converted at an son, students of public speaking at Willamette I nivers- early age and u n ited w ith th e F ree itv. Good musical numbers.
