Mr. Hoffman, p asto r of the G erm an B aptist church of P o rtlan d of which church Mr. F o th was a member. Rev. Mr. Hoffman read th e o b itu ary w hich follows and added many w ords of appreciation of th e C h ris tian fellow ship he had enjoyed w ith the deceased. T hom as Isaacs sang several beau tifu l songs. Mrs. Rennlson accom panied him on th e piano. P a ll bearers were all neighbors and friends, Robt. K erslak e, Geo. W. Allder, J. Flem m ing. Alex. B enjam in F o th was born May 5, 1845, in Russian P oland w here he grew up to m anhood, and was m ar ried to Miss C aroline B uller, who passed away over 23 years ago. T he deceased em ig rated to A m er ica w ith his fam ily in th e spring of 1879, and settled in M issouri w here he lived fo u r years. From th e re he moved to K ansas w here he resided six years. From th e re th e family moved to Oregon w here he has re sided in P o rtlan d and th e Victorv d istrict u n til d eath cal)ed him on the m orning of Novenibet- 29th, a fte r a sh o rt illness. He had reached the age of 7 6 years, 6 m onths and 24 days.
