Ol- 1 cott, honorary chairm an Near East Re lief, the Portland School Board has given three m onths leave of absence to Miss M argaret Reid, teacher of his tory in Jefferson High School, th at she might help organize the schools and colleges of Oregon for the Near E ast Relief. Miss Reid has recently re turned from the Near E ast where for two years she was in charge of an orphanage of three hundred seventy- five children In Homs, and later help ed care for 6,000 refugees in Marash. “ For the first tim e In my experience as a teacher I find my h eart is not in teaching,” says Miss Reid.
