O ct ober 29, th e occasion being a "house w arm ing,” th e firs t e n te rta in m e n t and neighborhood g a th e rin g held in th e new building. In fact, th e first a ffa ir of its kind ever held In th e com m unity. T he H allow e’en Idea w as cleverly c arried out. G hosts w ere m uch in evidence, a group of them receiving a t th e door. L ikew ise, th e old w itch w as p resen t w ith h e r broom and c re a t ed m uch m e rrim e n t w ith h e r fo rtu n e tellin g an d q u eer an tics. Jack o’ la n te rn s aided in lig h tin g the stage, w hich w as ad orned w ith orange an d black festoons, black cats and w itches. T he p ro g ram w as p u t on by th e school and included som e ra th e r spook- y num bers, th e w eirdest of all, p e r haps, b ein g th e g host d rill by th e old e r pupils, given w ith th e lig h ts su b dued an d accom panied by m usic, w hich, to put it m ildly, w as very sol em n and fittin g .
