ober 29, th e occasion being a "house­
w arm ing,” th e firs t e n te rta in m e n t
and neighborhood g a th e rin g held in
th e new building. In fact, th e first
a ffa ir of its kind ever held In th e com ­
m unity.
T he H allow e’en Idea w as cleverly
c arried out. G hosts w ere m uch in
evidence, a group of them receiving

w as p resen t w ith h e r broom and c re a t­

dued an d accom panied by m usic,
w hich, to put it m ildly, w as very sol­

S u p e rin te n d a n t B renton Vedder, who
cam e o u t to help celebrate, gave a
b rief ta lk , a fte r w hich all w ere in ­
vited to a d jo u rn to th e basem ent,
w here a free supper, in clu d in g hot
coffee w as served by th e women of th e
com m unity.
A fter supper, neig h b o rs renew ed ac­
q u ain tan ce and n early all took p a rt in
old tim e gam es u n til a late hour.
I t was estim a te d th a t aro u n d 150
w ere p resen t and m any rem ark ed th a t
once a m o n th w as none too o ften to
have such a p arty .
T he C om m unity Club has purchased
th ree gasoline lam ps and a larg e box
of towels- fo r the school. P la n s a re
now being m ade for a social. T h a n k s­
g iv in g w eek, to Include a Sale of a
q u ilt, a lunch cloth, ap ro n s an d o th e r
a rtic le s, also su p p er by th e plate, to
raise m oney for p layground equipm ent,
