Colson was born Ju ly 14, 1881, a t C lackam as, Oregon, and died In S eattle O ctober 15, 1921 a fte r an illness la stin g 19 m onths. At th e age of 11 she w ent w ith h er m other, Mrs. E lla Colson, her sister May an d b ro th er Clay to S eattle, W ashington, w here her m o th er ac cepted th e position as m atro n of the S eattle Sem inary. H er fa th e r died when she was two years old. Mrs. Colson w ith h e r th ree ch ild ren were real pioneers of th e Sem inary which now has been changed to S eattle Pa cific College. They w ere th e first to arriv ed and live in th e building. Ju n e finished h er ed u catio n in th is school g ra d u a tin g in 1902. She was a m em ber of th e o rig in al S eattle Sem inary q u a rte t, a m em ber of th e faculty, and m usical in stru c to r to r two years. * She was m arried to W illiam W. C athey in 1903, and has since m ade her hom e In S eattle. To this union was born one son, B u rd ett. T he fu n eral service was held in the F ree M ethodist ch u rch n ear th e college. Rev. R obert W arren had ch arg e of th e service and offered prayer. Rev. T. H. M arch preached th e serm on. I)r. E. O. Tiffnay, pres ident of th e college, read th e scrip tu re lesson. Rev. Jam es Eva. Rev. A. N. W est, Dr. O. E. Tiffnay and Prof. A. H. Stillw ell paid high triD- utes to h e r m em ory. Music was fu rn ish ed by a q u a rte t com posed of Mrs. A. L. Mrs. C athey leave to m ourn th e ir loss, h e r husband and son, and m other, all of S eattle an d b ro th er, Clay Colson of Canby, Oregon, and a h o st.o f loving friends, fo r to know her, was only to love her.
