The boys defeated the Irrigon Knights 70-25 and then beat the Weston-McEwen TigerScots by the score of 42-33. With those wins, that gives the JV Mustangs an overall season record of 11-8. Heppner jumped all over the Knights early in the game and led 19-11 after the first quarter. The Mus- tangs then led 33-16 at the half and 49-22 at the end of three quarters. Heppner outscored the Knights 21-3 in the fourth quarter to get the win by the score of 70-25. Leading the way for the team in scoring were Mason Orem and Cooper Wight with 14 points each. Lane Critchlow exploded for 12 points in the game, and Joseph Albitre finished with 10. Owen Cunningham had seven points and Caleb George six. Conner Wil- son scored four points for the Mustangs and Thomas Bales had three. In their last game of the sea- son, the Mustangs avenged an earlier two-point loss to the TigerScots. The game was close and tight for the first three quarters with the Mustangs leading 9-8 at the end of the first quarter. The game was tied 20-20 at half- time and 26-26 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter the Mustangs took over, dominated and outscored Weston-McEwen 16-7 to secure the win by the score of 42-33. All nine of the Mustang players scored in the game. Bales led the team with 13 points. Orem was next with 10 points and Wight finished with six. Jackson Coiner had four points for the Mustangs and Cunning- ham three. With two points each were Albitre and Wil- son. Finishing the game with one point each were Critchlow and George. Getting wins in their last two games of the year was a fabulous way for this fine group of young players to finish their season.
