The Clinic Director will be located at Pioneer Me- morial Clinic in Heppner, Oregon and make periodic visits to the Ione Commu- nity Clinic. The Director will manage the operations and delivery of services at these clinics. This includes implementing standards, standard work protocols, policies and supervision of all clerical staff and medical assistants. This is a leadership position and requires leadership skills and experience. Essential Functions in- clude increasing organi- zational awareness in the communities served to increase patient volumes, working with various Dis- trict partners to implement programs that promote health and access to pri- mary care in the service area; working with various staff to ensure clinics are certified and continuously meet criteria and compli- ance for various programs, working collaboratively with medical providers and staff to ensure mean- ingful quality metrics are selected, tracked and con- tinuously improved. The Director prepares annual clinic budgets with the CFO, meets regularly with the CEO, and participates in monthly Department Director Meetings. Requires excellent orga- nizational and communi- cation skills; supervisory experience, planning and project management skills and the use of project management tools. Crit- ical thinking capability, demonstrated skill with software programs includ- ing Access, Excel, Power- Point and Word, required, along with the ability to become an expert user of the District’s Electronic Medical Record software. Successful applicant must have five years of lead- ership and management experience, medical clin- ic management strongly preferred. There are two sessions: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Signup sheets are located in the Neighborhood Center building on Main Street. This is a free event for chil- dren ages five to 12 years old. Children get to each choose a Christmas gift for their siblings and then choose a gift for their par- ents or guardians. Families who live in south Morrow County and receive services from the Neighborhood Center qualify. “The family comes in, and the kids go one by one with a volunteer to the All Saints Episcopal Church, which is directly behind the Neighborhood Center. The kids can then go to all the tables and pick out gifts for their family members and wrap them up,” says Lisa Patton, Coordinator for the Neighborhood Cen- ter. “Then, they have gifts to give to their family for Christmas without having to pay anything, and it still gets to be a surprise.” The Neighborhood Center is known to have very affordable prices in its thrift store, where there are clothes, dishes, bedding, toys and bathroom supplies, among all kinds of other useful items. “A lot of times you go to thrift stores, and the peo- ple who need that stuff can’t even afford to shop there,” Patton says. “We definitely don’t want the reputation of taking advantage, so our prices are inexpensive. Anyone who may be struggling financially can come to the Neighborhood Center and receive help for things like heating their home, paying electricity and water bills or paying rent. They can also write vouchers for one- night hotel stays and ticket vouchers for $20 worth of gasoline from the local gas station. “We run mostly on grants and donations, but the thrift store does help with some of our emergen- cy programs,” Patton says. “It all goes to a worthy cause.” The Neighborhood Center takes donations all year long. They ask that do- nations be gently-used, not stained, ripped, or having missing or broken pieces. This time of year, winter wear, such as hats, gloves and coats, are very much appreciated.
