The Oregon Department of Education, in partnership with the Ore- gon Lottery, has announced the continuation of Oregon Regional Teacher of the Year to honor exemplary educators in every region of the state. Nominations are open statewide through January 31, 2020. Teachers will sub- mit applications by March 27. Each Oregon Education To the editor: Why does the Heppner football team get more pub- licity than other Heppner sports? Heppner cross country came in fourth in state this year and received a token mention. My point is that there are more sports in Heppner than football. It would be nice to hear about the wrestling team, track or even the chess team in the local paper. Thank you, Francisco Velasco Heppner Editor’s note: The Heppner Gazette-Times news staff is not large. We do not write up or take photos of any of the sports that appear in the newspaper.
