Bobby and Faith to perform at Boardman park Acoustic duo Bobby and Faith will be the per- formers for the June 25 Music in the Parks outdoor summer concert at 7 p.m. at the Boardman Marina Park. Bobby Nelson and Faith Martin met in Echo, OR in the summer of 2004 onstage at an outdoor con- cert. They play classic rock and pop favorites. The Music in the Parks concert series is held each summer alternating be- tween Boardman and Ir- rigon Marina parks. The concerts are free to the public and begin at 7 p.m. on Mondays through Aug. 13. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Local student qualifies for rodeo finals Chamber lunch meeting The next lunch meeting of the Heppner Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday, July 5 at noon, in the Heppner City Hall con- ference room. This meet- ing will be for all entities reports. During the summer months there will be just one meeting per month, held the first Thursday of each month. At the Aug. 2 meeting, the Greater East- ern Development Corpora- tion (GEODC) will speak about the Community Eco- nomic Development Strat- egy (CEDS) for Heppner. The regular schedule will resume in September. The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities. A request for an interpreter for the hearing impaired or for other ac- commodations for persons with disabilities should be made at least 48 hours be- fore the meeting to Sheryll Bates at 541-676-5536. Low net was a three- way tie between Mike Doherty, Mike Bergstrom and Tim Wright with a score of 59. Low gross went to Jerry Gentry with a 68 and a sec- ond place tie was between Kelly Fox and Duane Dis- que who shot a 72. Jerry Gentry got KP on 4/13 and also on 6/15. Least putts of the day went to Mike Doherty and Duane Disque. There will be no men’s club play next Sunday as the annual Men’s Invita- tional will be taking place. The next regular men’s play will be held Sunday, July 1 and will be hosted by Char- lie Ferguson, Larry Runyon and Stacy Wilson. Jo Pettyjohn Memorial golf tournament held The Jo Pettyjohn Memorial golf tournament hosted 21 lady players last weekend. -Contributed photo. The 27 th year of the Jo Pettyjohn Memorial golf tournament was held at Wil- low Creek Country Club on June 16-17, with 21 ladies playing. First flight gross win- ners were Nancy Propheter in first place, Lisa Kelso in second and Gayle Graven in third. Second flight winners were Dawn Kluer first, Bev Miller second and Dana Reid in third. Net winners for the first flight were Heather V. in first, Sharla Barber in second and Sandy Obrist third. Cindi Doherty took first, Anne C. second and Sandi Hanna third for the second flight net. Low net of the field went to Cindi Doherty with 110 and Nancy Propheter got low gross of the field with 137. Sharla Barber won $843 in the Calcutta with the team of Heather V. and Anna C. Zoe Duchek received $505 for the win- ning bet on the second place team of Patti Perkins and Linda Gettman. The third place Calcutta winner was Gayle Graven, winning $387 for the team of Gayle Graven and Dana Reid. Over the tee cup The Willow Creek Country Club ladies play- day on June 12 hosted 19 ladies. Low gross of the field went to Virginia Grant, low net to Pat Dougherty and least putts of the field was a tie between Della Heide- man and Bev Steagall. Low gross for flight A went to Eva Kilkenny and low net to Loa Heideman. Least putts went to Coral Mitchell. Flight B low gross was Betty Burns. Low net went to Shirley Martin and least putts was a tie between Pat Edmundson and Tiffany Clement. Sue Edson took low gross on flight C and low net was Lorrene Mont- gomery. Nancy Arnson and Jeanne Creswick tied for least putts. Virginia Grant got a chip-in on hole number 11, Bev Steagall on 14 and Pat Dougherty on 13. The Yellow Ball team winners were Pat Dough- erty, Pat Edmundson, Bun- nie Lindsay and Sue Edson. A glow ball tournament will be coming soon. Ione library meeting scheduled Community lunch menu Christian Life/Firelight volunteers will serve lunch on Wednesday, June 27 at St. Patrick’s Senior Center. Lunch will be spaghetti and meatballs, green salad, mermaid salad, parmesan bread sticks and tiramisu for dessert. Milk is served at each meal. Suggested donation is $3.50 per meal. Effective June 29, 2018, the Fire Chief of the City of Heppner is imposing a CLOSED SEASON for open burning based on local fire safety concerns. This burning ban is for the City of Heppner.
