Published: May 3, 9, 16, and 23, 2018 Mustang golf teams claim championships Both Heppner Mus- tang golf teams continued their winning ways as they claimed the championships at the Enterprise Invite this past week. The Alpine Meadows golf course was in great shape and the snow- capped mountains provided the perfect backdrop to a great weather day for the golfers. Other schools that participated were Enter- prise, Grant Union, Wal- lowa, Cove and Imbler. The Mustang girls won the team title with a total of 384. The only other school that could field a girls team was LaGrande and they finished second with a 444. The Heppner #2 team came in third with a 516. Nicole Propheter and Sophie Grant both finished the day with identical scores of 92. Nicole finished in second place overall on a score card playoff and So- phie followed in third place. Other scores for the Mus- tangs were Sasha Keown with a 96, Madison Combe 104 and Claire Grieb shot a 108. Scores for the Hep- pner #2 team were Caitlyn Scrivner with a 119, Marlee Mitchell and Suzie Cason both shot a 132, Kennisyn Wilkins 133 and Kayla McAninch had a 147. The Mustang boys shot a team total of 370 to best all other teams on the day. Host team, Enterprise, fol- lowed with a 407 and Grant Union was next with a 418. Imbler had 429, Heppner #2 scored 430 and Cove with a 482 rounded out the field. Other scores for the winning Heppner team were Logan Burright with a 91, Cason Mitchell shot a 96, Reno Ferguson 100 and Casey Fletcher had a 102. The Mustangs will go to Union this week for the Buffalo Peak Invitational. This is the final tournament before the district tourna- ment, which will be held on May 7-8 at the Pendleton Country Club. MCHD approves signage for Boardman building At the Morrow County Health District meeting on Monday, Apr. 30, the board approved spending $54,570 in signage for the newly purchased Board- man building, which, when complete, will house of- fices of Pioneer Memorial Physical Therapy, Home Health and Hospice, Mur- ray’s Drug and Mountain Valley Land Co. John Mur- ray, owner of Murray’s Drug, declared his interest in the project prior to vot- ing to accept the proposal, and pledged $25,000 of his money toward the sig- nage costs. Other approved signage projects included $7,154 for signage at the Boardman Ambulance Hall and $19,954 for the Irrigon Medical Clinic. Low bid was from Carlson Sign, however, another sign company, Yesco, had revenue, $1,094,010 in total operating expenses, a non- operating gain of $10,063 for a $209,000 loss for the month, a $14,126 year-to- date loss. -learned from CEO Bob Houser that Dr. Rich- ard Aballay has received his Oregon Medical License and is credentialled with Medicare and Medicaid. He is currently seeing patients at Irrigon Medical Clinic. -learned from Houser that Caroline Jackson, RN, has been hired as the new Home Health/Hospice Di- rector. Houser said that Jackson, who has resided in Alaska, plans to move her family to the Heppner/ Lexington area. Her Oregon RN license has been ap- proved and she was sched- uled to begin with the dis- trict on May 2. -heard from Houser the district has received approval for all spaces in the Boardman building from Brett Cook, building inspector. -heard from Houser the district has submitted a $250,000 grant request to the Ford Family Founda- tion for the Irrigon Medical Clinic project. -received the following reports for March: Pioneer Memorial Hospital had five admissions in March, one swing bed admission, seven admissions for observation, 502 out-patients, 58 emer- gency room encounters, 1,867 lab tests, 99 x-ray/ ultrasound tests, 31 CT scans, five MRI scans, 31 EKG tests, six lower en- doscopy procedures, one upper endoscopy proce- dure, 49 respiratory therapy procedures. In other business, the board: -received the follow- ing financial report for the period through March: $941,437 in gross patient revenue, less $6,289 for bad debts and $222,663 in contractual and other ad- justments, plus $149,591 in tax revenue and $12,871 in other operating revenue for $874,947 in total operating Pharmacy had 2,815 drug doses for $88,420 in drug revenue. Heppner Ambulance had 17 page-outs with 16 transports for $29,955 in revenue; Boardman Ambu- lance had 40 page-outs with 22 transports for $39,922 in revenue; Irrigon Ambu- lance had 27 page-outs with 18 transports for $25,925 in revenue; Ione Ambulance had one page-out with no transports. There were four flights. Pioneer Memorial Clinic had 386 patient vis- its with 10 new patients, 39 seen by a nurse and 22 no shows. Irrigon Medi- cal Clinic had 275 patient visits with 17 new patients, 41 seen by a nurse and 25 no-shows.
