For the county’s 25 full-time non-union employees in 2017-2018, their combined salaries went to $158,348 per month, an increase of $4,612 with the three-per- cent increase over the previ- ous year. In deciding what per- cent to give, Commissioner Jim Doherty indicated a precedence has been set in recent years for three percent. “It is tough for me to do anything different than the past. I am lean- ing to three percent,” he said. Commissioner Me- lissa Lindsay said that with additional anticipated step increases included, there are employees who will receive up to a 5.5 percent pay increase. After discus- sion the commission voted unanimously to award a three-percent COLA in- crease to all non-union and elected officials in the com- ing fiscal year.
