Ione took 13 athletes, six men and seven women. Women placed eighth of 13 while men placed 13 th . A benchmark was set by David Smidmajer with a 98’7”in javelin. A season best mark was set by Hector Aguilar; he ran his fastest 200M this season at 29.77a. Smidmajer also tied his personal record (PR) in the 100M at 13.35a, while five more athletes also set PRs as follows: TJ Patton, 5:11.19a – 1500M; Hector Aguilar, 94’10” – Javelin; Tyson Epperson, 13’5.25” –long jump; Jessie Flynn, 13.43a – 100M; and Rachel Holland, 1:06.62a – 400M. Placing at the meet were: 2 nd , Jessie Flynn in long jump (8 team points); 4 th , Rachel Holland in jav- elin (5 team points); 5 th , J. Flynn in 100M (4 team points); 6 th , J. Flynn in 300M Hurdles (3 team points); 7 th , J. Flynn in high jump (2 team points); and 8 th , Jorge Aguilar in shot put (1 team point). Ione coaches say the team is seeing improve- ment throughout the team. The athletes are working on competitiveness, condition- ing and getting prepared for district competition in four weeks. This week the Cardi- nals compete in Condon at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25. Children also are wel- come to eat lunch and stay for recess; cost of school lunch is $2.10. Parents can pick their children up at noon if they stay for recess. Children must be five years old by Sept. 1 to en- roll in kindergarten. Parents are asked to bring each child’s immunization re- cords, birth certificate and Social Security card. Also on May 20, Cre- ative Care Preschool will hold a visitation day from 10-11:30 a.m. Activities and snacks will be pro- vided. She said he was supposed to come home at 3:30, but it was now 4:19. -MCSO received report of a van with food advertis- ing on it that kept going up to residences and a subject was writing numbers down and leaving. The caller said that the female was able to get into her vehicle and left the scene. MCSO responded and gave the male a courtesy ride. -MCSO Deputy ad- vised he was at an Irrigon location checking a cat trap. -MCSO received report of a suspicious vehicle in the Irrigon area driving by the caller’s residence very slow. MCSO responded and advised subjects of their options and told them to call 911 if anyone was tres- passing on their property or if anything suspicious occurred. -MCSO received report from an Irrigon woman who said there was construction going on across from her residence, has seen vehicles going up and down the street and would like extra patrol. -MCSO received report that Umatilla County Sher- iff’s Office arrested David Ramirez, 32, on a Morrow County Justice Court war- rant for Failure to Appear/ Driving While Suspended. Bail was set at $3,278 in full.
