The account of the angels, stars, shepherds, sheep, inn keep ers, wise men, Joseph, Mary and Jesus was revealed by toddlers, preschoolers, and grade-school youngsters. Joseph (Paul Lindsay) led the donkey that car ried Mary (Addison Coe) to Bethlehem, and their first stop was the Motel VI where the Inn Keeper (John Lindsay) had to deny lodg ing for the Holy Family. If weather conditions allow, every Saturday through early March the club will meet at the Heppner City Park at 9 a.m. The skiing is local, with members carpooling for about 25 minutes before beginning to ski. Bring a lunch to eat around the big warming fire. S om e s k ie rs v is it around the fire and return to the vehicles while others may ski on for more explo ration and exercise, even tually returning to town before 3 p.m. Individual or family dues are five dollars annu ally. Anyone who doesn’t have ski equipment, call Bill Ewing or Steve Brown field, and they may be able to arrange a loan of equip ment for you. M ore in fo rm a tio n about the overnight ski into a local cabin will be available toward the end of the ski season. Painting Services Umatilla Forest group seeks facilitator The Umatilla Forest Collaborative Group is seeking a facilitator to work with group members to identify com mon ground and develop forest practices recommenda tions for the Umatilla National Forest. At the end o f the in credible performance the children shared the true meaning of Christmas from their hearts. One student supported the tradition of gifts saying, “Jesus was a gift from his Father, so now we give gifts to each other.” Another enlightened the crowd by declaring, “I like to remember the two words in Christmas, Christ and then mas—spelled with two s-es—my family and I go to vigil Mass.” Even the littlest ones’ thoughts relayed Christmas words such as, “ Peace, love, Jesus and joy.” Christmas carols sung by the children were en joyed throughout the play.
