Joe served on the State Poultry Commission and was active in community affairs in both Canby and Heppner. He was also a member o f the Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, and the Elks Lodge. Survivors include: his wife, JoAnne L. Burleson of Heppner; sons, Warren H. Burleson of Milwaukie, OR an d Wi l l i a m B. Burleson of Yakima, WA; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Gilbert. 93, longtime Heppner resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Eugene, OR. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday. July 26, at 11 a.m. at the Heppner M aso n ic C em etery . A po tlu ck recep tio n w ill follow from 1 to 5 p.m. at Cutsforth Park. She was bom September 21, 1920 at The Dalles, OR the daughter of Philip and Minerva Roberts Wetmore. She was raised on Mt. Hood Flat and graduated from Mt. Hood Flat Grade School (a one-room schoolhouse). In 1939 she graduated from The Dalles High School. In April o f 1940 she Joyce B. WEDDING TABLES Brian Rust & Kevin Drake & Brittany Farrell graduated from Lewiston High School in 1965. She then moved to Alaska where her son Brian was born. They returned to Idaho in 1974, where she worked many jobs, which included waitressing, security guard at the Lewiston airport and Omark. She also worked at Marsh's Trading Post until poor health caused her to retire. She loved to do bead work, and made fabulous beaded jewelry. She had a Sisters Jodessa Chapa and Kolleen Chapa, both of Heppner, have been named to the Western Oregon University Dean’s Honor Roll for spring term 2014, the university in Monmouth announced recently. Both were informed of the honor through letters from College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean Sue Monahan. Heppner students named to EWU dean's list Two local students have made the spring 2014 dean's list at Eastern Washington University, the university announced last week. Students receiving the honor are Teruo Chinen and Brandon Seitz, both of Heppner. Chamber lunch meeting The next lunch meeting of the Heppner Chamber of Commerce will be Thursday, July 17, at noon in Heppner City Hall conference room. SAGE Center manager Kalie Davis will be the guest speaker; she will he promoting the upcoming Morrow County Harvest Festival as well as giving an update of the SAGE Center. Turner, 67, of Lewiston, ID passed away July 4, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Disposition was by cremation and her final resting place will be with her late husband.
