I Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, July 17,2013 Chamber Chatter Relay for Life Fund raiser: Wheatland Insurance is selling raffle tickets for an Italian Dinner for eight to benefit our local Relay for Life event. Raffle tickets are $5 and the winner will be drawn around the event on Aug. 3-4. The dinner will be prepared by Missy Lindsay and Carrie Grieb and served by the Wheatland family. Tickets may be purchased at W heatland Insurance Center in lone or Heppner or from any W heatland staff. Make sure you stop by and get entered into the draw ing for a great dinner opportunity. All proceeds w ill go to Relay for Life. Sunday, July 14-Wed., July 17: Come say good bye to the Artisan Village/ Quilter’s Round-Up team as they close their shop. Sunday through Wed., there will be refreshments and Bonnie will be there so stop in thank her for the years of having her business on Main Street. There will be special sales, so take the time and make those final purchases. There will be one last sale in this building late August or mid-September. It will be a “blow-out-sale” with rock bottom prices on odds and ends from all their years of business. Jamie Nasario, with Luke Basile on guitar, will be performing old-school soul and blues in this first of two Sunday evening concerts. The community is invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets, and enjoy an evening of great music. Food will also be available for purchase, to raise funds for the Shared Ministry’s DA’s Report Morrow County Dis trict Attorney Justin Nelson has released the following report: -Daniel Albert Bozarth, 53, was convicted of one count of Disorderly Con duct 11, a Class B misde meanor, and sentenced to two years bench probation, to include enrollment in services with Community Counseling solutions and compliance with other pro bation or conditions of post prison supervision. Bozarth was additionally convicted o f one count of Criminal Mischief III, a Class C mis demeanor, and sentenced to two years bench probation, to include enrollment in services with Community Counseling solutions and compliance with other pro bation or conditions o f post-prison supervision. Fines, fees and assessments totaled $200. -Adrian Lee Ahumada, 29, was convicted of Fail ure to Appear II, a Class A misdemeanor. The trio may not be looking for a fabled golden ticket, but Jake and his livestock would certainly like to bring home a purple ribbon from the centennial event. Jake will be a sixth-grader next year at lone Community School and is the son of Deacon and Erin Heideman of lone. -Photo by Erin Heideman Commission unanimously adopts new wolf rules SALEM, O re.— The Fish and Wildlife Commis sion adopted new perma nent Oregon Administrative Rules to manage wolves in Oregon when it met by phone recently. The new rules are based on agree ments reached between ODFW, Oregon Wild, Cas- cadia Wildlands and the Oregon Cattlemen’s Asso ciation through settlement of a lawsuit. Holtz, 40, o f lone, was convicted o f Maintaining Dog as a Public Nuisance and fined $260. -Iasha Hollis, 29, of I leppner, pled no contest to VBR 85/55 and was fined $260. 4-H horse show planned for July 27 The Morrow County 4-H horse show is coming up on Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 a.m. at the Mor row County Fairgrounds in Heppner. The public is invited to support local 4-H youth by attending the show to watch the 4-H exhibitors display their skills with their horse projects. The morning starts off with various equitation and wolves, it must confirm four qualifying incidents within a six-month time frame (previously it was two dep redation incidents and no specific timeframe). -Require agency coor dination with a wider array of interests once wolf activ ity is known in an area. -Require the develop ment and public disclosure of area-specific wolf-live- stock conflict deterrence plans that identify non- lethal measures to minimize conflict. -Require that non-lethal measures be implemented showmanship classes in Wilkinson Arena, followed by the gaming events in the afternoon in the rodeo arena. “Start taking in centen nial fair events before Au gust,” says Morrow County 4-H Youth Development coordinator. May 28: -MCSO cited Dana Jo Harris, 49, For Driving While Suspended- violation and Driving Un insured in Irrigon. -MCSO received report from an Irrigon man that a pickup had been parked in an entryway since the previ ous Friday. -MCSO received re port from the Boardman Fire Chief that the Station 7 building was struck by a vehicle on its southwest corner. He said the pickup may have been a dually type vehicle and there were tire tracks. MCSO responded and took a criminal mis chief report. -MCSO cited Maria De Jesus Madrigal. 42, for Vio lation of the Basic Rule, 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. -MCSO received report from an Irrigon woman of a yellow Lab mix at large. A deputy responded, but the animal was no longer in the area. MCSO advised the caller than if it was safe to do so, tie up the animal and they would come get it. -MCSO received report that a subject almost ran them into the guardrail on Hwy. 207 heading toward Lexington. The caller re ported the vehicle license, but just wanted the driver advised of proper driving habits. Shrout was further found guilty of Failure to Appear II, a Class A misdemeanor. Sentence of 180 days jail time was suspended and the defendant sentenced to 24 months bench proba tion, to include 20 hours community service.
