Daniel is the son o f William and Nancy Jepsen o f Heppner. Bethany is the daughter of Dr. Art Robin son and the late Laurelee Robinson o f Cave Junc tion. The couple met at Ore- gon State University, where Daniel received his Master of Science degree in crop science and Bethany her Master of Science degree in nuclear engineering. Daniel currently re sides in Merrill, OR and Bethany in nearby Klamath Falls, OR. A March 16 wedding is planned in Albany, OR. 4-H sewing club on a ‘roll’ The Sew Fantastic 4-H Club held its third club meeting o f the year on Jan. 13 at the lone Community Church. Members each started sewing their own “jelly roll” quilt top using 40 pre cut, 2-'/i- by 44-inch-wide, color-coordinated strips of cotton fabric called “jelly rolls.” They also enjoyed eating a jelly roll cake for refreshment. Members will finish sewing the quilt pieces together at home or with the help o f their sewing assistant. Then they will add the border at their next meeting on Feb. 10. Brian Keith Voltz, 57, passed away on January 19, 2013, in Mesa, AZ. A memorial gathering was held on Wednesday, Janu ary 23, from 2-4 p.m. at Mariposa Gardens Memo rial Park and Funeral Care, 6747 East Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ 85206. Brian was bom on Jan uary 12, 1956, in Spring- field, OR to Laveme and Anton Voltz. He graduated high school in 1975 in Fos sil, OR. On November 21, 1981, he married the love of his life, Linda Keithley. Together they had two sons, Jason and Kyle. Brian enjoyed spending time with his family. He could also often be found hunting and fishing. Trips to North Dakota brought a smile to his face. Brian is survived by: his adoring wife, Linda; sons, Jason and Kyle; brother, Terry Voltz; sister, Robin Tucker; and many nieces and nephews. Nine skiers took the 5350 as far as the 10 spur last Saturday, Jan. 19 (above). Snow conditions were good and the bright sunshine was with them the whole trip, they said. “We are lucky many weekends by getting away from foggy, overcast Heppner and up to the sunny, clear blue skies of the mountains," says club member Bill Ewing. Skiers report that the 5350 trail is quite short but has several fun hills to climb and glide down.
