Boardman partners with Park & Recreation for feasibility study The Boardman City Council voted Tuesday to contribute $8,000 toward hiring a consultant to do a feasibility study to deter mine if Boardman could support a community rec reation center. Karen Kegler, chair person of the Community Recreation Center Commit tee, asked the city to partner with the Boardman Park CHECK and Recreation District in splitting the cost of hiring consultants, Johnson Reid of Portland, OR. They will evaluate the feasibility of constructing and operating a multi-purpose recreation complex in the city. Poten tial uses being considered include a physical fitness center, an indoor pool, and a gymnasium, which could be used for a variety of in door sports. Johnson Reid’s analysis will provide input on community support and recommended uses for the facility, as well as outlining the financial characteristics of the facility. The feasibil ity study will take approxi mately six weeks to com plete, with an additional four weeks to prepare the review of their findings. In other city business.
