U nder the title, "The Living Roots of Mu sic,” internationally-ac claimed musician Lauren Pelon traces the story of music and performs mu sic from around the world on lute, guitar, lute-guitar, lyre, recorders, gemshoms, cornamuse, krummhorn, sch reierp feife, shawm, rackett, pennyw histles, concertina, ocarina, hurdy- gurdy, doucaine, Kiowa courting flute, synthesizers, electric wind instrument and pedal board. Pelon is also a vocalist, and her original songs and ancient ballads have been appealing to audiences of all ages. Pelon was the re cipient of a 2001 Artist of the Year award from the Minnesota Arts Council, and 2010 Artist Initiative Award from the Minnesota State Arts Board. She has pre sented concerts throughout the United States. Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia. The event will kick off Friday night, June 7, with an optional scramble. Cost for the scramble is $5; teams will be drawn at 5 p.m. with tee-off at 5:30 p.m. Regular play gets underw ay on S aturday morning. The entry fee for Saturday and Sunday is $70, which includes free golf on Friday, breakfast both mornings, dinner for one on Saturday and a spon sor prize on every hole both days. TV shoot May 5 lone’s 1,000-yard TV shoot is scheduled for Saturday, May 5, at the Frank and Joe Halvorsen farm near lone. Registration will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The cost is $20 per shot per person. Lunch is avail able for $8 for adults and $4 for kids 10 and under. There will be three classes at this year’s shoot. Class #1 will be for elk or deer rifles, class #2 will be for heavy target or bench guns and class #3 will be open site at 500 yards. There will also be a gun raffle during the shoot; tickets will only be sold at the event. All proceeds from this event are used for the lone 4th o f July Celebra tion.
