The Heppner branch of the Oregon Trail Library District will continue its summer reading program with a tour of the Morrow County Courthouse this Friday, July 22 at 2 p.m. Interested families should meet at the courthouse. For those participating in the summer reading program, July 29 is the last day to fill out book logs at the library. Early readers and preschoolers can count the time they have been read to by another person. Story hour and Friday movies continue through August 5. The July 22 movie will be Planet 51. July 29 story hour will be at 10:30 a.m. on the topic “Global Citizens.” The 2 p.m. movie that day will be a showing of Inkheart. BEO collects school supplies Bank o f Eastern O regon (BEO ) is once again offering its 12 branch lobbies as drop-off sites to collect school supplies for local elementary students. Each year, BEO employees join in the bank’s efforts to collect these sup plies for their community schools. Each Bank of East ern O regon branch will also offer a drawing for backpacks filled with sup plies for lucky students, in addition to collecting sup plies for their local schools or ESD to distribute. BEO urges com munity members to join with their local branches and celebrate hometown spirit; bring school supply donations to any branch of Bank of Eastern Oregon. Parents of grade- school students are encour aged to stop in, fill out a drawing ticket and enter for a chance to win a school backpack.
