The center profited $2,250.00 from the 19 tables, the raffle brought in $455.00, and donations made up $220.00. "Right along w ith many other small busineses the center has been suffering. With the huge cut we had to take from the Commission we have been suffering. I have seen the center at its worst and we aren't at that point right now but would really not like to even think of a huge loss again for our non profit center." The community really pulled together November 20 at the Heppner Elk's Lodge. Lots of new faces and o f co u rse the old famous faces! First place went to "Q uarter and a Dime" again, second place to "Semi-Sober" formerly the Lounge Lizards, and third place table "M. A. N. Team" gave up their prize to the "BEO Braniacs". Thanks to "Mr. Bill" for the idea of matching his $50 towards the raffle. Sheridan Tarnasky, Cody High and also his "Bucknums" table, and Alex Reystedt matched the $50. "Mr. Bill" turned his $50 in raffle tickets to the table "Bucks & Stangs". Cam eron Sweeney won a video camera that was donated by Wal-Mart. The Bucknums table won the 2 rem aining item s o f a portable dvd player donated by Wal-Mart and an indoor grill donated by JC Penneys. Thanks to the preschool parents, Brad & Kacee Lathrop, Nichole Gibbs, & Sara Ramsey also Colt Club parents Shawn & Staci Wilson for bringing the chips for snacks. Thanks to many people who brought in the 60 plus door prize items. Everyone likes to win something! Lots of friendly fan and rivalry! Everyone seemed to have a great time and as far as I know, there are no complaints! Thanks to the set-up and clean-up crew for all the extra work and behind the scene junk! Quite a few people stayed to help clean-up and I know that I appreciate that! What would I do without the support of my staff & board members. Thanks for playing at the tables and being there enjoying the $ rolling in! Teacher Merry Chandler Director/HDC 12-8-1c Would like to take a few minutes to give a huge Thank You to V irginia Peck for being there at the time o f needing her to finish driving me into Lexington, granddaughter Tori for coming down to ranch, and unloading my things and driving me to the hospital. Know this was a big surprise to her. The Drs. and Nurses and all the staff at the hospital, and the crew who flew me to Bend. What a trip! The cards, calls, and flowers meant so much to me and the kindness shown to us after I got home from the hospital. The seven classm ates who said we need to meet for a class reunion and came down to be with me was just what 1 needed. (Just a note to let you know my home nurse was none other than my husband, Mike. Good job, Mike, love you and Our Kids and Grandkids, wouldn't trade any of you. You were all there when I needed you.) My fam ily was there with me until they knew I was going to be ok after my surgery. Thank you so much. Kerry, thanks for taking a day out and coming down to see me. Lenna Smith stopped by. Many Rebekahs thorough out the State of Oregon came by. called and sent their love. Remember friends, listen to your body when it's trying to say something to you. Thanks again for your prayers, Marlene Gray 12-8-1c We would like to thank the Miller Family (Ryan, Sharon, Tyler and Kooper), Heppner Garbage Disposal, Les Schwab and M iller & Sons for donating to the raffle we held during the Civil War game when Walmart turned us down. We were able to raise $574 for the N e ig h b o rh o o d Center's shopping day this Friday..
