Valby Lutheran pumpkin carving party held Valby Lutheran Church hosted a pumpkin carving party last Sunday afternoon. Thirty kids and parents created 16 pumpkin masterpieces, and then roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on a campfire outside the church. The largest pumpkin was home-grown by Aaron Smythe. and Bill Tews contributed many pumpkins from his garden. Donations received from this event generated more than half of the congregation's goal to earn matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to benefit Lutheran World Relief. Weekly worship continues each Sunday at 9 a.m. All are welcome. Contributed Photo G O O D LUCK, CARDINALS! lone plays Arlington Thursday, Oct. 29 at 6 PM in lone.
