Touchet spoiled the Cardinal’s outing by dealing them a 44-14 loss. The Cards received the opening k ic k o ff and were moving the ball, start ing at th eir ow n 25 and moving over the 50 yard line with passes and rushes. Af ter a Cardinal punt, Touchet needed just two plays from scrimmage to find the end zone for the first time, con necting on a 25 yard pass and then running in from 25 yards out. With the point after good, Touchet led 8-0. The visitors let the Cardinals know who was boss by then scoring on each possession until midway through the second quarter. The Cards got on the board early in the second quarter on a drive starting on their own 32.
