Ninety- nine golfers played in the tournament. The Columbia-Blue S en io rs play at various courses in the region on the second Monday o f the month from April through October. The players are di vided into flights by handi cap. Results for the tourna ment were as follows: Flight A (0-12 hand icap): Gross - first place, Don Evans of Heppner (63); second place, Duane Disque o f Heppner (64); and third place, Dave R ichelderfor o f Umatilla (65). Net - first place, Weeb W illiam s o f Echo (64-10=54); second place, C huck Poulson o f Echo (69-12=57); and third place, John Edmundson of Heppner (68-11=57). The Willow Creek Country Club ladies pro vided food service including breakfast sandwiches, soup, rolls and pie. T he w e ath e r w as excellent, although a bit chilly for the early morning players. The tournament will be a four person team scramble. A caddy auction will begin at 8 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $35 per person and includes lunch. Activities included the long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin, and relay exchanges. Each kindergartener participated in long jumping, jumping on the high jump pit, and throwing a plastic junior high javelin, all under the watchful eyes of the high school track team. Afterwards, each student received an lone Track & Field t-shirt from Coach Rudolf. Kargar studied biochemistry at Washington State University where she met her husband, Malcom Towns- ley. After graduation, Kargar attended California State University and worked for two years as a biochemist.
