DA’s Report Morrow County District Attorney Elizabeth Bal lard has released the following report: -Osvaldo Navarro-Landeros, 23, was convicted on assault in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended, two year bench probations, complete 40 hours o f community service, other numerous conditions, and pay $1,413 in fines, fees, and assessments. -Darwin David Smith, 20, was convicted o f sexual abuse in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended, two year bench probation, complete 40 hours o f community service, other numerous conditions, and pay $913 in fines, fees and assessments. -D arw in David Sm ith, 20, was convicted o f burglary in the second degree, a class C felony and was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, 90 sanction units with 30 jail units, complete 80 hours o f community service, enroll in and complete social re-education/life skills training program, other numerous conditions, and pay $1,923 in fines, fees and assessments.: -Daniel Allan Macomber, 36, was convicted of failure to report as a sex offender, a class A misdemeanor and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days sus pended, two year bench probation, complete 40 hours o f community service, register as a sex offender, other numerous conditions, and pay $638 in fines, fees and as sessments. University of Idaho announces Dean’s List The University o f Idaho announces the 2,168 stu dents that made the Dean’s List for fall semester 2007. To achieve this honor, undergraduate students earned a grade point average of 3.5 or better on 12 or more graded credits. Law students earned at least a 3.0 GPA on a minimum of 10 graded credits. Area students that made the Dean’s List are Daniel Jepsen o f Heppner and Jamie Vanden Brink o f lone. Mariala said she liked how interesting Mrs. Hisler's life was, especially how she rode on horseback with her tw o daughters to visit a neighbor. -Photo by Autumn Morgan Heppner PTC to host family event The Parent-Teacher Club in Heppner will be host ing “Step Out With the Family” for K-6 graders and their families on March 7 from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $35 for families and includes a pasta dinner, dancing, family photograph and a door prize ticket for each family member. There will be many door prize items up for grabs as well as a couple o f larger raffle items tickets may be purchased for on that evening. Pre-registration is necessary to plan for food and space. Registration forms can be picked up at Heppner Elementary School. Checks should be made payable to Heppner PTC and, along with the registration form, should be returned to the school.
