He has had sheep, beef, goat, poultry and horse 4-H projects. He and his family have many animals on their “hobby farm.” He also likes reading science fiction. Pennant bearer Ash- ley Anderson also has a sister on the 2007 court. Princess Makayla Anderson. Ashley, 15, is the daughter o f Larry and M arcia A nderson o f Boardman. Her grandpar ents are Mick and Maxine Cimmiyotti o f Hermiston. This fall Ashley w ill be a sophomore at Riverside Junior/Senior High School. She is a member o f National Honor Society and played on the JV basketball team. She participates in the 4-H with horse and steer proj ects. clothing construction and fashion revue. She is also a member o f the Irrigon High School FFA club. Jarreid, the son o f Reid and Sheila Miller o f Lexington, joins his sister, Josie Miller, on the court as Josie is fair and rodeo queen this year. Jarreid , w ill be a ninth-grader at Heppner Ju- nior/Senior High School this fall, has grandparents who live locally, Joe and Bon- naRae Miller, Heppner, and George and Myrna Sieler, Lexington. Besides serving on A band with local ties is coming to the Morrow County Fair this year. “Syn ergy,” w ith former Heppner resident Nathan Johnson, will perform on Friday, Au gust 17, from 4-6 p.m. The band co n sist o f five members: Nathan Johnson, 17, has played bass guitar for three years. He became interested in mu sic when he was in Wendy Appleton's fifth-grade band class in Heppner. Since then he has moved to Tigard and, along w ith other members of the band, plays in the Tigard High School guitar class. El liott Hocker, 16, also plays guitar. He has been playing guitar for tw o years. He started playing piano and trumpet in fifth grade and currently plays the French horn. He also enjoys writing songs for the band. M ar cus Williams, 18, a recent graduate from Tigard High School, has played guitar for three years and also enjoys w riting songs for the band. Autumn Briggs, 17, also a recent graduate from Tigard High School, plays guitar and sings vocal when needed.
