T he basics are there but we have to ride out the changes and invite change. C hange brings new opportunities and challenges as we try new things, often letting go of the old. It takes a ruggedness to be willing to m ake changes. Last Thursday’s C ham ber m eeting was a testim ony to H ep p n e r’s livability and rugged business spirit. The Cham ber heard from M iller M anufacturing, Heppner Family Foods and the Bank o f Eastern O regon. Kevin C hick shared his past eight years o f learning experience as he brought M iller M anufacturing to its present state. Speaking with clarity and honesty. C hick shared his successes, w eaknesses, business grow th w ith hurricane K atrina, future business ideas and his pride in one o f the only “burning tables” in the region. T h e re ’s a great story here. He had a dream that people believed in, w hich has c re a te d h u g e g ro w th p o te n tia l fo r H e p p n e r; and he continues to grow, learn and m ake changes to better his business.
