Tickets will be .25 each or 5 for a $1 and will be used for games as well as food We hope to see everyone there GEODC to hold membership meeting night’s basketball game to earn money for the tsunami relief fund The H eppner B ooster Club, who is in charge o f concessions, very generously allowed them to keep the gross profits made during that night Students and staff worked furiously at times and by the end o f the evening had made $1007.30 This, com bined w ith p rev io u s m oneym akers, brought the total to $1087 80 to be sent to UNICEF ASB p resid en t Shanna Rietmann, who was in charge o f the fundraising commented, “1 feel bad for those people and I wanted students to be able to help them We have it pretty easy here compared to what the people in Southeast Asia are going through ” The desire to help others in need was evident at HHS as both students and staff responded w ith overw helm ing enthusiasm It reinforced the s c h o o l’s p h ilo so p h y o f “w orking to g e th e r to achieve more ” As principal Wade Smith said, “I think it’s wonderful how the staff and students came together for such a great cause.” WVSC elects officers W illow V alley Serv ice Club announced the 2005 officers at their Jan 6 business meeting held at John’s Place in Heppner B a r b a r a Bloodsworth, Heppner, was elected president. Ginger keithley, Heppner, secretary; and Margo Sherer, lone, was elected treasurer This new g ro u p will p ro v id e leadership at the monthly, first T hursday no-host luncheon business meeting, 12-1 p m at John’s Place.
