The Huskies jumped out to a 6-1 lead early, before Susan S ou th w o rth hit a running jumper Megan Orr then fed Lyndi Patton and Shanna Rietmann for lay-ins to cut the lead to 8-7 Southw orth scored o ff a rebound and hit two free throws and Rietmann scored off a pass from Orr to give the Mustangs a 13-10 lead after one Rietmann fed Orr for a lay-in and scored off a drive to open the second and Terra Wilson scored inside to end the q u a rte r w ith the M ustangs taking a 19-14 lead into the locker room The Huskies came out with a vengeance, taking a 21-19 lead, but Southworth scored inside and Rietmann scored off a rebound to make it 23-21. The Mustangs, who hit 18 o f 40 from the field and 10 o f 14 from the line, were led by Rietmann who hit six o f 10 shots scoring 13 poin ts, g rab b ed five rebounds, had four steals and four assists.
