Mustang girls pull away from Huskies Mustangs come up short at Umatilla ffH S basketball schedule

back at home on Saturday,

The Huskies jumped
out to a 6-1 lead early, before
Susan S ou th w o rth hit a
running jumper Megan Orr
then fed Lyndi Patton and
Shanna Rietmann for lay-ins
to cut the lead to 8-7
Southw orth scored o ff a
rebound and hit two free
throws and Rietmann scored
off a pass from Orr to give
the Mustangs a 13-10 lead
after one
Rietmann fed Orr for
a lay-in and scored off a drive
to open the second and Terra
Wilson scored inside to end
the q u a rte r w ith the
M ustangs taking a 19-14
lead into the locker room
The Huskies came
out with a vengeance, taking
a
21-19
lead,
but
Southworth scored inside
and Rietmann scored off a
rebound to make it 23-21.
After the Huskies tied it,

The Mustangs, who

were led by Rietmann who

on Saturday, Jan 15 against
the Culver Bulldogs

organizational meeting

hold
The Heppner High School Class o f 1965 will be
holding an organizational meeting to discuss plans for their
40lh class reunion The meeting will be held at 7 p m., Jan
19 at John’s Place in Heppner
